Benefits of IFAP Members |
Agriculture is critical to the economic and social development of most countries of the world and yet does not benefit from the attention it deserves, be it at the national or international levels. As a national farmers’ organisation, your main objective is to voice farmers’ concerns and advocate their interests at both local and national levels. As globalisation increases, being well organized and part of a global network is crucial. Through the International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP) will be able to work with colleagues in the largest world farmers’ network to achieve this mission. Therefore, we are pleased to invite your organisation become an IFAP member. |
Your organisation would have the opportunity to raise your specific local and national concerns while developing common positions on worldwide concerns. |
As a member of IFAP, your organisation will be able to build synergies with the 100 national farmers’ organisations already in the IFAP network, have access to IFAP international partners’ services, and especially a global platform to raise awareness of farmers’ concerns. |
Also, your organisation will contribute to the formulation of international policy positions on behalf of the world’s farmers and to deliver these policy positions to the United Nations system, the WTO and other relevant international organisations through IFAP delegations. |
With globalisation, much decision-making has passed to the international level. Farmers must therefore also work together to have their voices heard at this level, and be able to influence international developments.
